As well as gaining the healthful benefits from a plant based diet, the spices used in Indian food, such as turmeric, have healing properties. My personal caveat is that I don’t consume soy products, such as tofu or soy milk. I also avoid wheat products as much as I can. Otherwise, I look forward to getting real recipes for vegan versions of my Indian favorites.

We are celebrating Earth Day with a lively raw food lunch. This morning I was inspired to prepare several raw food dishes, and it happens to be Earth Day, too! I spontaneously called some friends whom I have been meaning to catch up with and they were available to join us for this raw food feast!

I’ve prepared tender leaves of romaine lettuce tossed with an orange sesame dressing. I’ve also made an array of brightly flavored dishes: sunflower seed pate in lettuce leaves, marinated zucchini and celery, quinoa and cucumber tabouli, and a blueberry pie in an almond date crust. I just want you to know that I invented some of these recipes on the fly with what I had on hand! Raw food is easy! And cleaning up the kitchen is a snap!

Our guests will be arriving soon! I’ll let you know what they say about our feast!

It’s fun and rewarding to let nature tantalize your taste buds with the freshness of the living plant foods and enjoy higher health and vitality, as well as benefiting the earth through a natural way of eating that is harmonious with inner and outer ecology.

I highly recommend Rainbow Green Live-Food Cuisine by Gabriel Cousens, M.D. He gives compelling evidence to clean up the inner ecology of the body with a live-food diet. Since I have been using this book to inspire the raw food dishes that I prepare, I have been gifted with more energy and more vitality, and some annoying systemic symptoms have abated. Even my kids eat my raw food concoctions because it makes them feel much better and more alive!!! And that is the highest recommendation that any lifestyle change can receive!

Happy Live Food Eating and Vitality!

The continuos stream of beautiful Light purifies and enlightens you as it flows through your body and into the earth. This Light heals you, our Earth and everyone else around you. It connects the Light within each of us, nourishing all of life on earth.

The White Light illuminates the earth.  It flows around the earth, touching the heart of every being and enlightening all of Life.

The full spectrum of Light pours from the sky in rainbows. The colors shimmer through the atmosphere, filling everyone with Peace and Harmony. You and Earth are radiant with Life and Happiness!

Here are a few of the things that I do for Earth Day in my everyday life:

  • dry the laundry outside instead of using a dryer.
  • use only water, vinegar, and baking soda for household cleaning, instead of buying toxic chemical cleaners.
  • enjoy a vegan diet which I eat raw most of the time.
  • use organic produce.
  • use recycling bins.

There are many other changes that anyone can do to celebrate Earth Day! More everyday actions are on the web, such as the actions listed here: http://www.takeactionangels.org/

Happy Earth Day!
